Before starting the design of a given interior, it is necessary to undertake a series of steps in the form of drawings and technical information for the respective space, regardless of its typology.

The required types of drawings with their general technical information for the start of designing a given project are:

Plans – provide detailed data on the general location of the rooms from a top view, including:

• Determining space typologies within the assigned interior
• Location and measurements of the walls
• Location and dimensions of doors and windows (wall-mounted, ceiling-mounted)
• Presence of spacial transitions
• Differences in the heights of the spaces
• Total area of the constituent volumes

Sections – section of the interior space, illustrates the different levels within/between the rooms, providing additional spatial information.

Elevations – provide detailed information on transitional and lighting components, electrical outlets such as sockets and switches, plumbing fixtures, and other characteristics in the layout of the given wall.

HVAC – there are many types of installations that can be added to the technical interior drawings, the main ones being ventilation, heating, and cooling systems.

Plumbing Drawings – similar to electrical drawings, plumbing plans show the markings and locations of the plumbing components. This includes sanitary and plumbing pipes, water drainage systems, and everything else related to plumbing in a given interior. They may also indicate the position of starters and other water sources on each floor.

The aforementioned documentation facilitates the subsequent phases of the project by establishing the fundamental boundaries for the distribution of the remaining stages in the construction of the object.

MRG Design interior office offers the option to send a professional to your desired location for technical surveying of the spaces, which includes familiarizing with the specific features, taking measurements, and measuring angles. 02. First Working Discussion

Generally speaking, this is the stage of familiarizing ourselves with the specifics of the project. During the meeting, the available technical documentation described in phase one is reviewed, timelines are established, the steps that the client needs to be aware of are explained, and the key information about the phases leading to the final goal – a completed and ready-to-use interior – is provided.

When it comes to designing a complete interior, the methodology and creation of a strong design concept are entirely different from creating a separate component located in a specific workspace. There are many factors that play an important role, which designers take into account when aiming for a unique space with original aesthetics and character. Often, clients think this pertains to colors and furniture components, whose role is integral; these are tools that contribute to the final vision. By convention, one should start with the given conditions and establish the functional layout.

The first working discussion is a way to get to know the clients, their views, requirements, lifestyle, and last but not least, their personal desires related to the vision of the final object. These are the initial criteria that are taken into consideration and need to be integrated into the space. Clients can help our designers with any visual examples or provide samples of already chosen materials if available. In most cases, it is better for the interior to be built without any initial fixed views on colors, components, and materials, and to follow the professional canons, starting with interpreting the interior space.

Most clients come with installed plumbing systems, finished wall plasters, and in some cases, even laid flooring. However, the most suitable time for the first working discussion/meeting is when the building is in the rough construction stage, before starting the aforementioned processes. This is because these are integral technical parts of completing a specific interior and should be treated as such. If they are already built, it may lead to their demolition and transformation, which involves wasted time and unnecessary expenses for the client.

After clarifying the main circumstances described above, we reach the most important tool that every designer in the field of interior design and architecture works with, namely light. Its presence is different for each space, and it is responsible for many future decisions that need to be made. The amount of light determines the number and size of mandatory storage volumes, the color scheme of the ceiling, walls, and flooring, and the overall feel of the character of the specific volume. It directly influences human perception and the sense of room size.

The subsequent criteria for developing a concept are based on the principles of design, namely – emphasis, balance, unity, contrast, rhythm, proportion, and variety. These fundamental laws are the pillars on which a composition of segments is built, interacting with each other and creating the finished interior.

This brief document details the key components of the project proposal, describing all components of the designed products, from the largest to seemingly insignificant ones, ensuring transparency and alignment among stakeholders.

The project proposal defines the scope of work by explaining specific tasks that need to be accomplished and setting out the expected outcomes. Clear definitions of roles and responsibilities ensure accountability and optimize project execution.

A well-defined schedule is critical for project planning and resource allocation. During the presentation of the project proposal, the timeline is discussed, dividing tasks into manageable phases and establishing important milestones for tracking progress. Realistic schedules facilitate efficient project management and reduce the risks of delays. Often, after discussing deadlines, clients may postpone installation for a period ranging from a few days to several weeks due to unfinished construction.

The offers prepared by the interior office MRG Design are crafted according to clearly defined guiding principles. The final value is determined based on all the constitutive elements. The client is aware of all the components that make up a particular item as part of the overall interior design project.

A scenario exists where the project is approved, but the offer exceeds the client's financial limits and expectations. This can be avoided by establishing an initial budget, and after a preliminary discussion, our designers can determine whether the proposed budget would be sufficient for the approved project. If not, the project is subject to transformation for recalculation and a revised financial offer. Explained more illustratively, this means that the individual elements comprising a certain component can be replaced with more affordable ones, such as carcasses, hinges, drawer fronts, cabinet faces, handles, or in the worst case, an entirely new concept and project. These changes lead to a modification in the financial aspect of the offer.

05. Contract

The contract, in general terms, is defined in legislation as a written agreement between two or more parties that regulates or creates, modifies, or terminates mutual rights and obligations. In the field of design, it can be defined as an agreement between professionals in the field of interior design and the client, regulating the conditions for the provision of design services for a specific interior space.

Generally speaking, the contract is an official written agreement signed after final clarification of the latest drawings related to your interior, and also following the approval of an offer by the client. Our contracts contain detailed descriptions with personal data of both parties, namely the designer's office and the client. Additionally, they include a comprehensive set of information based on renovation activities and products to be manufactured based on provided technical drawings.

The types of contracts in our design office vary:

• Contract for digital drafting of drawings suitable for subsequent execution
• Contract for the realization and production of components from designed drawings suitable for execution
• Dual-purpose contract: digital drafting of drawings + execution and production of a comprehensive project or selected part thereof

Of course, the most essential information for such a contract is also outlined, namely precise execution deadlines. The production and execution deadlines may vary depending on the complexity of the interior and whether the project elements are entirely manufactured in Bulgaria or if there's a possibility of importing foreign products and details. Accordingly, the first option often, but not always, implies shorter deadlines, whereas foreign details typically involve waiting for production + delivery, with timelines that vary depending on the country of manufacture.

• Under the first subsection, after signing the contract, it is necessary to pay 75% (seventy-five percent) of the total amount in the form of a deposit, with the remaining 25% (twenty-five percent) paid upon delivery of the complete set of drawings.
• In the second option, 50% (fifty percent) of the total amount is paid as a deposit at the time of signing the contract, with the balance of the remaining 50% (fifty percent) due.
• In cases of the last subsection, it is standard to pay 50% (fifty percent) of the total amount as a deposit upon signing the contract. The remaining 25% (twenty-five percent) is required to be provided after the completion of the production of the elements, and the final 25% (twenty-five percent) is paid after delivery and installation.

These terms and conditions ensure clarity and mutual understanding between the parties involved, facilitating smooth project management and execution.

07. Delivery & Assembly

This is the final step before completing the assignment commissioned by the client. After the components designed in the technical drawings are manufactured, they are transported from our production facility to the project site. For this purpose, the space must be ready for installation.

• The flooring should be installed and ready for use after the components are mounted

• The plumbing network should be installed and functionally servicing each designed component of the final design (switches, outlets, connections, etc.).

Deliveries and installations are carried out nationwide and internationally. At the client's request, we can offer these two services together or separately, for an additional fee. Pricing at this final stage depends on the distance to the installation site or the project's location. In most cases, the items we manufacture are transported using the company's own vehicles. This is the only way we can ensure the smooth transportation of the elements while guaranteeing the preservation of their original appearance and condition. If the project site is located on a floor other than the ground floor, an additional fee is calculated for carrying the individual modules to the respective floor level.

Clients are free to hire third parties to transport the components to the respective floors or to handle the task themselves. Please note that choosing this option releases us from responsibility for the overall condition of the individual module and the completed project due to potential unforeseen physical damages that may occur.

When selecting the "Single Furniture Design and Installation" package, MRG Design does not perform finishing construction works, such as rough construction or the connection of electrical appliances.

This step is undertaken only when the "Turnkey Execution" package is ordered.
