Residential Interior

July 07, 2024

The project is an urban apartment designed to demonstrate that efficient space utilization and a carefully established neutral color palette, enriched with distinctive textures, are among the key aspects in crafting a harmonious interior. Situated within a gated residential complex, this home is distinguished by full-height windows that provide a 270-degree view in three visual directions. Upon entering, guests are greeted by an entryway marked by white walls, mirrors, wood textures, and a mix of open and closed cabinetry, complemented by linear lighting systems and minimalist finishing details. At the core of the residence lies an open-plan area that combines the kitchen, a relaxation zone, dining space, and transitional corridors housing a blend of open niches and cabinets. A careful selection of proportions and finishes enhances the visual harmony of the interior envelope, with furnishings that span the vertical expanse of the space, adding a heightened sense of elevation. Ceiling lines further amplify the impression of spaciousness, with noteworthy linear lighting fixtures above the kitchen, creating a sense of lightness and subtly standing apart from the substantial kitchen volumes in the background. The kitchen area is composed of two sections: the main area and an island. Additional rooms include secondary utility spaces, namely bathrooms and storage areas, all crafted in the same orthogonal style with neutral tones of white and beige. From the central zone, one gains access to the master bedroom and children's rooms. The master bedroom features darker textures often suited to restful environments, with an eclectic feature wall behind the upholstered bed headboard. This wall cleverly conceals the entrance to a private en-suite bathroom, and the room is completed by a wardrobe area, with contrast achieved through wooden wall and ceiling claddings, which also integrate a lighting system. The children’s rooms are aligned behind the master bedroom, accessible through the main central area. The layout of the offspring's chambers follows a standard corridor along the length of the space, with furniture components at both ends. The colors blend vibrant youthful tones with neutral shades. The furniture is clean-lined, featuring a combination of straight and rounded forms. Special details, such as metal shelving, divide upholstered areas for play and relaxation—sofas and beds. Dining room furnishings—the sofa, table, and chairs—were provided by the client. Study desks are simple and functional, with auxiliary cabinets and adjoining wardrobes. The wardrobes feature floor-to-ceiling mirrors, enhancing the room's stylistic effect, creating an illusion of greater space, and infusing it with warmth and light. This understated elegance is deliberate. From a professional perspective, the concept's strength is revealed through careful analysis, uncovering layers of design from the broad strokes to the finest details. The experience for residents and guests is one of spacious, harmonious, and aesthetically refined living, with a pronounced minimalist influence. The project and concept were devised by Workbox Studio, with the team at MRG Design responsible for the technical realization, production, and installation of all wall coverings and furniture components.
