Multicomponent Interior

January 16, 2022

The aim for this interior was to create a modern and urban space that combines clean lines, raw materials, and stylish surfaces. The volume features a harmonious blend of intersecting straight lines, incorporating a mix of concrete-textured wooden countertops and black glass surfaces to achieve a contemporary and stylish exterior appearance. The elements predominantly consist of intersecting and straight lines. The design concept is based on the interaction between the orthogonality of the main directions - vertical and horizontal. This can be seen in the various elements in the kitchen. The kitchen units feature white mirrored surfaces with integrated recessed handles, forming the basis of minimalist modern design. The visible composition of open volumes with wooden surfaces breaks the monotony of homogeneous surfaces. They are made from light brown chipboard and black glass fronts, which in turn add visual contrast to the straight lines of the components. As the narrowest and longest space in the typical distribution of homes on the Balkan Peninsula, the two-level corridor is accentuated by wooden elements in the staircase and storage components. Mirrored surfaces accompanied by white walls give this area a sense of spaciousness and openness. A forgotten essential element in modern homes is the specifically designated place for a dressing table in the bedroom, presented here again in a white palette with an accent element. The bathroom is one of the most neglected spaces in the interior. Adjacent to the bedroom, it is the only other space that fully allows emotional solitude and seclusion. The design and functional arrangement of its components are equally significant for the well-being of its user.
